It’s shaping up to be a heated race for Hawaii’s U.S. Senate seat.
Senator Brian Schatz and Representative Colleen Hanabusa will square off in the Democratic primary.
They took part in their first debate Tuesday on Kauai where they talked about a range of topics from clean energy to early education.
“I support the constitutional amendment that would enable more and more people to be able to afford pre-school,” said Sen. Brian Schatz.
“I agree with Brian on early childhood but I also believe that it was wrong for the Abercrombie Schatz administration to repeal junior kindergarten when you didn’t have anything else in place,” said Rep. Colleen Hanabusa.
