An invasive beetle appears to be spreading on Oahu.

The coconut rhinoceros beetle was found on Monday at Campbell Industrial Park. Since December most of the beetles have been found in the Pearl Harbor area, so this is the farthest it’s traveled.

The state agriculture department will put new traps in the Campbell area. They’ll also do tests for breeding sites and damage.

The state has found 540 adult beetles on Oahu since December.
