Hawaii Island police have reclassified the disappearance of a 16-year-old California girl as one involving a runaway.
Jasmine Keilani of San Diego was vacationing with family in Kona. She was last seen on the morning of Tuesday, July 8, on Alii Dr. in Kailua-Kona.
Police are saying she left the family on her own accord. She contacted her mother on Wednesday, July 9, but she still hasn’t been located.
Flyers were passed out Saturday indicating that she is now considered a runaway.
Police have had several responses and have been following up on them.
Jasmine Keilani is 5-foot-5, 125 pounds with brown eyes and brown shoulder-length hair with blond tips.
She was last seen wearing a tie-dyed top with faded denim shorts.
Police ask anyone with information on Jasmine Keilani’s whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
