A Waipahu man made his first appearance in court Wednesday, July 16, in connection with a stabbing case in Pearl City.
Benedicto Ceasar, 29, was charged with second-degree attempted murder in the stabbing of a 27-year-old man at Pearl Ridge Community Park.
It happened at around 8:45 p.m. Sunday, July 13. The victim was hospitalized in serious condition.
According to Honolulu police, Ceasar and his brother, Larry Ceasar, 31, fled the scene and were later arrested in their car on Leowahine Street in Waipahu.
While police arrested both for attempted murder, Larry was later released pending investigation while Benedicto was charged.
According to police, Ceasar was covered in blood and officers found an alleged weapon, a black folding knife, in the car.
He remains in custody with bail confirmed at $50,000.
