We’ve been getting inquiries into the neck brace that a Maui murder suspect is wearing.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Steven Capobianco’s neck was injured after he was assaulted by an inmate who mistook him for another inmate.

This happened on Saturday, July 12, when Capobianco was in custody on an unrelated charge.

The suspect was booked for assault and Maui police are investigating the incident.

Capobianco has been indicted for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Carly “Charli” Scott. His bail is set at $2 million.
