Bank robbery suspect had been arrested just hours before

KHON2 is learning more about the suspect connected to Wednesday’s robbery at the American Savings Bank in Walmart on Keeaumoku St.

Turns out, he had been in police custody just hours before the incident.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, Cody Rose, 31, was arrested at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday on Punchbowl St. for robbery.

Police say he was suspected of robbing an Ewa Beach establishment at 10:43 a.m. the day before, but was then released pending investigation for that case.

The American Savings Bank was robbed at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police identified him as a suspect later that evening and arrested him again at around 11:30 a.m. Thursday Ewa Beach.

He was booked for second-degree robbery.
