Motorcycle rider identified in Haleiwa fatal accident

The medical examiner has identified the man who died in a motorcycle accident on Saturday morning in Haleiwa as 33-year-old Christopher Danley of Honolulu.

The accident happened around 12:45 a.m. on Kamehameha Hwy. near the Weed Circle junction area.

Police say he was riding a 2003 Harley Davidson alongside another cycle when he lost control making the turn from the junction onto the highway.

A witness on the other cycle said that the driver’s bike crashed into the southbound metal guardrail and the driver was ejected from the bike into the bushes.

The driver was not wearing a helmet and was declared dead on arrival.

Speed and alcohol are possible factors in the motorcycle crash.
