Honolulu police raided another Kalihi game room Thursday night less than two weeks after it reopened under a different name and brand.
Only KHON2 was there, when officers seized multiple machines on Waiakamilo Road.
The company, formerly known as Winner’z Zone, closed this location and others earlier this year, following the prosectuor’s cease-and-desist letter in May.
The company re-branded itself as WZ Family Entertainment Center, and reopened this site on July 18.
WZ Family’s attorney says he’s surprised, because the machines were modified to comply with the law.
“Winner’z Zone has done everything in their power to fall within the four corners of the law, in other words to operate a legal business,” attorney Howard Luke said.
Two nights ago, officers raided the former Island Fun Arcade in Kalihi seizing eight machines.
Investigators say illegal gambling was going on at the business.
