The Hawaii Dept. of Transportation reminds motorists of the ongoing Kamehameha Highway Resurfacing Project that, once complete, promises a safe and smooth driving route for Central Oahu motorists.

This project will repair 13.7 lane miles of roadway on the highway from the vicinity of Ka Uka Blvd. to the vicinity of Waihau St.

Roadwork will primarily be comprised of day work.

This week’s work schedule includes:

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Single lane closure in the northbound direction from Ka Uka Blvd. to the vicinity of Waihau St. for curb and gutter installations. Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and use alternate roadways such as Meheula Pkwy., Ka Uka Blvd. and the H-2 Freeway.

In addition to resurfacing and reconstruction, the project will include guardrail safety improvements, traffic signal safety modifications, pedestrian safety improvements, utility modifications, landscaping and new signage.

Lane closure information will be available on the HDOT website at hidot.hawaii.gov, and will be released through our social media channels on Facebook and Twitter.
