Punahou, Lahainaluna top first #COVER2 Power Polls of 2014

After hanging a record 63 points on Saint Louis this past Saturday, reigning OIA Champion Mililani came in at No. 2 in the very first #COVER2 Power Poll of 2014 released Monday night.

Trojans, who were led behind quarterback McKenzie Milton who posted 571 yards of total offense with 7 touchdowns are 2-0 thanks to having also received a forfeit victory over McKinley, which allowed Mililani to play Saint Louis at John Kauinana Stadium.

The top ranked team is the reigning state champion, Punahou, having earned 14 of the 20 first-place votes.

The final three team rounding up the top five are Kamehameha, Farrington and Kahuku.

The 20 #COVER2 Power Poll ballots consist of 19 analysts from across the state, representing Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii island. The 20th ballot is the average of the “viewer votes.”
