Drivers can expect more closures on the H-1 Freeway airport viaduct this weekend.
The state Department of Transportation will close right west-bound lanes from the Keehi interchange to the airport viaduct off-ramp from 9 p.m. Friday through 12 a.m. Monday.
All ramps to and from the airport will remain open.
The closures will allow crews to continue work on deck repairs as part of the Airport Viaduct Project.
Right lanes will also be closed on Nimitz Highway in the west-bound direction from 9 p.m. Friday through 12 a.m. Monday between Kakoi Street and Peltier Avenue as a precaution due to the deck repair work happening above.
Motorists are reminded that although there is no work being done on Nimitz Highway, these closures ensure the safety of motorists as hydro-demolition work is taking place above.
Speed limits will be reduced to 15 mph through the work zone area in order to reduce traffic induced vibrations that may lead to cracking in the newly repaired deck.
Drivers are urged to allow for extra travel time to the airport and to drive slowly and safely through the work zone area.
