Caregivers and seniors take part in forum

KHON-2 and other sponsors offered another “Aging in Place” forum Saturday at the Ala Moana Hotel.

Dozens of caregivers and seniors took part in the conference which gives everyone a number of options when it comes to senior living.

One of those options is called the Manoa Cottages, small bungalows that create a non-institutional setting. “What’s different for us is we’re more of home-like setting,” said Calvin Hara. “We’re smaller, 27 beds, designed to provide that kind of softer environment.”

Hara said it’s important that there are different options for families looking to take care of seniors.

This is the eighth year for “Aging in Place.”
