Maui makes debut in Division I Top 10, Punahou and Lunas still top #COVER2 Power Polls

For the very first time, the Maui Sabers have cracked the top-10 in the Cover2 Power Poll.

The Latest Division I rankings, which were revealed on Monday’s KHON2 News at 10p had the blue and white in at number-10, following last Thursday’s 48-11 win over Kamehameha-Maui. At 2-0, the Sabers have outscored opponents this season by a combined score of 76-18. They’ll get perennial MIL power Baldwin on Friday night at War Memorial Stadium.

As for the top of the Division I Power Poll, defending State Champion Punahou remains at the top receiving 12 of the 20 first place votes, despite having not played a game yet this season. Mililani, came in at second for the second consecutive week. The 3-0 Trojans were picked at number-1 in 8 of the 20 ballots.

In Division II, reigning Maui champ, Lahainaluna kept their spot at the top, receiving 13 of the 20 first place votes, Iolani and Konawaena also received votes.
