State to conduct siren testing near Camp Erdman

The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency will be conducting siren testing on Wednesday, August 27, near Camp Erdman on Oahu.

The testing will take place between 9 a.m. and noon.

Residents in these areas may hear the siren sound for six to eight 30-second to one-minute intervals. Testing will include checks of the public address system and short blasts known as “burps.”

Technicians are testing to ensure that recent work on the North Shore siren was completed properly.

Residents may call HI-EMA at (808) 733-4300 if they have any questions or concerns regarding maintenance work on the Statewide Outdoor Siren Warning System.
