Police look for suspects in Kaimana Pantry break-in

Police are looking for two suspects who broke into a Diamond Head convenience store.

It happened just before 2:30 a.m. Monday at Kaimana Pantry on Monsarrat Avenue.

The suspects made a quick getaway, but not before getting caught on the store’s surveillance cameras.

The first suspect, who wore a light-colored hoodie, broke into the store’s front window and slipped right in.

He or she headed to the back of the store, then by the register before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Meanwhile, another person was waiting outside and may have been the lookout. The first suspect passed a bag to the second suspect right before fleeing the scene.

“I would say judging from like the video and how high his head was from the ATM, it was around 5-foot-8, but then the way he just slipped through the door real quick, especially with a backpack on, meant he had to be real thin,” said employee Brian Solusod.

Judging from the video’s timecode, the suspects were out within a couple minutes.

This isn’t the first time the store has been hit. Workers tell KHON2 a break-in occurred in January.

Police say that this incident does not appear to be related to Thursday’s armed robbery at Zippy’s restaurant on Kapahulu Avenue.

If you have any information on either of these cases, you’re asked to call police.
