Facebook’s auto-play function could destroy your cell phone bill

If you have a high cell phone bill, Facebook may be to blame.

The social media platform’s auto-play video feature allows videos to play automatically as you scroll through your timeline.

It can play on your phone, which can push your data plan over its limit and add to your bill.

But there is a solution. You can go into your settings and switch off the Video Auto-play option or have it play only when your phone is connected to Wi-Fi.

If you have an iPhone, go into your general settings to adjust your Facebook settings; if you have an Android, go into the app’s settings.

The change would apply to your Facebook app only.

To turn off Auto-Play on the Facebook website, click on Settings then Videos.
