If you’ve driven by Hilo Hattie’s flagship store recently, you may have noticed aloha shirts decorating the building’s exterior.
Several viewers sent photos to KHON2 via Report It.
The company says it hung 250 shirts throughout its Nimitz Highway location to celebrate Aloha Week.
“This in in line with our mission to celebrate and share aloha,” said Donald B.S. Kang, president and CEO of Pomare, Ltd. “We wanted to show our community that we believe in aloha, and what better way to share it than with a symbol of Aloha. We didn’t realize it would create such a buzz around town.”
The shirts are distressed inventory and will not be available for sale.
The company plans to donate some of the garments to “New Hope Church” for the holiday season.
