A Maui man was arrested Wednesday morning for attempted murder in the second degree in the Aug. 22 stabbing of his wife.
On that August day, Maui police responded to a Haiku residence for an in-progress abuse case. When the officers arrived at the scene, they found the female victim laying on the ground with injuries. The victim, the spouse of the suspect, was transported to the hospital in critical condition for further treatment.
An investigation revealed that the suspect, 61-year-old Gary Feliciano, used a knife and stabbed his wife.
Feliciano was originally placed under arrest that day for assault in the first degree, with bail set at $50,000. After Wednesday’s grad jury indictment, Feliciano is now being charged with attempted murder, with bail set at $100,000.
He is currently being held at Maui Community Correctional Center.
