ESTERO, Fla. – The University of Hawai’i men’s basketball team saw a 21-point lead dwindle to one but had enough to pull away in a 62-55 win over Marist on Tuesday morning in the Gulf Coast Showcase at Germain Arena. The ‘Bows (5-2) will play East Carolina on Wednesday in the fifth-place game.

The ‘Bows then went cold from the floor, going almost seven minutes without hitting a field goal as Marist went on a 13-2 run to cut the lead to 46-45 with just over 10 minutes to play.

The ‘Bows regrouped and went on a run of their own as Webster-Chan scored on a layup then hit a three-pointer to give his team an 11-point lead with 5:38 remaining. Marist cut the lead to three points on a pair of free throws from Phillip Lawrence (11 pts, 4 reb), but the ‘Bows held on for the win.
