Dozens of people interviewed for job openings for Target’s new store in Kailua Thursday.
The first day of a job fair by the retail giant drew a long line at the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club.
Target is looking to hire approximately 250 “team members” to staff the store when it opens in March 2015. Positions include cashiers, salespeople and food service workers.
“We’re looking for people who are going to be great with guests, so people who are fast, who have a great, fun personality, friendly,” said Target spokesman Drew Santos. “I think the talent pool in Hawaii is perfect for Target’s needs. We’re a growth company so we’re looking for people that have great experiences that continue to grow with us from our team member level all the way up to our supervisor and management level positions.”
The store expects to process 1,200 applications over the four-day event. Applicants will be notified on Monday, Dec. 15, if they got the job.
Target held a similar job fair for its Kahului store last week, which is also scheduled to open next March.
