‘Tis the season for caroling, baking, and Christmas lights.
A street in Waikele is filled with Christmas spirit.
Nine homes on Anapau Place have Christmas lights synchronized to the same music.
“It brings us a lot of joy and pleasure seeing the kids smiling and happy dancing sometimes,” resident Keith Yoshida said.
Yoshida is the self-proclaimed instigator and synchronizer.
“When I was younger, our parents would take us to go and look at lights. And when we had our own kids, we’d want to decorate our house and let them enjoy the lights,” Yoshida said.
What started out with a few strands of lights turned into an extravaganza over the years.
The display itself is green using LED lights and most of the homes are powered by the sun.
The lights will be on display from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday till Thursday, and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday until the first week of January.
