Ocean Safety has posted shark warning signs in the area of Bellows in Waimanalo after two sharks roughly 8-10 feet in length were spotted about 30-50 yards offshore.
The sharks were seen around 2:15 p.m. Friday by an off-duty lifeguard from shore, on the military side, about a mile down the beach from the City’s lifeguard tower.
The sharks were acting aggressively, thrashing in the water.
Lifeguards immediately cleared the water.
The signs will remain up for the rest of the day. The area will be reassessed in the morning around 9 a.m. Saturday.
