A man who had been wanted by authorities for more than two years has been captured by police.
Officers with the Hawaii Police Department arrested Albert Aukai Manners, 29, with the assistance of deputies from the Department of Public Safety’s Sheriff Division.
The arrest occurred on Thursday, Jan. 8, at 12:22 p.m., at a home in the Ainaloa subdivision in Puna.
Manners was taken to the Hilo police cellblock, where he was charged with first-degree bail jumping and four counts of contempt of court.
Manners was featured on “Hawaii Island’s Most Wanted” in November 2012.
He was wanted on a $15,000 contempt of court warrant for failing to appear in court for a hearing on eight criminal charges, including driving under the influence and assaulting a police officer.
He was also wanted on no-bail warrants for violating terms of release on bail in an assault case and a domestic abuse case.
Manners is being held without bail until his initial court appearance on Friday, Jan. 9.
