Homeless man indicted after woman stabbed to death in Nanakuli

A homeless man has been indicted on suspicion of second-degree murder following a stabbing in West Oahu.

It happened on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at around 8 a.m. at Tracks Beach in Nanakuli.

According to court documents, a witness told police she saw Fred Silva III, 56, stab his girlfriend, Calvine Nakatani, 44, in the shoulder as she sat in a chair.

Nakatani was initially hospitalized in serious condition, but her condition worsened and she died.

Silva also had five criminal contempt warrants. His bail was set at $250,000.
