Honouliuli Internment Camp site to be designated as a national monument

A bit of history being made this morning as President Barack Obama is set to announce an executive order designating the Honouliuli Internment Camp site as a national monument. During World War II, the camp was the largest and longest-used confinement site for Japanese-Americans and European-Americans and resident immigrants in Hawaii. Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono helped lay the groundwork in Congress to make this historic designation a reality. She joined us this morning to talk about the next steps.
