Celebrating Our Kupuna: Stanley “Seiki” Higa

Happy Birthday to Stanley “Seiki” Higa of Kahalui, Maui.

He was born in Puunene on February 23, 1926 to Seigyoku and Ushi Higa.

Stanley served in the US Army and station in Germany.

As a heavy equipment welder during the Korean War in 1952. He continues to correspond with one of his army buddies Robert Korte in Massachusetts.

Stanley worked for Hawaiian Commercial and Sugar Company as a heavy equipment mechanic and retired after over 42 years of dedicated service.

Stanley was married to the late Betty Haruko Higa and is loved by all his family including three grandsons, two granddaughters, and three great granddaughters.
