Special Olympics Hawaii is hoping you’ll make your next stop Zippy’s.
The restaurant is offering a special promotion through April 30 to collect donations on the organization’s behalf.
Diners can make a donation at canisters available at all Zippy’s locations, “buy” a $1 cut-out or purchase a Kokua Pac. Twenty-five cents from each Kokua Pac sold will go to Special Olympics Hawaii.
A new keiki menu also features messages that focus on Special Olympics athletes’ hard work and abilities.
“This partnership with Zippy’s Restaurants will be a great help to our athletes, provided them with the training and health exams they need to compete at the top of their game,” said Nancy Bottelo, Special Olympics Hawaii president and CEO. “The support of local companies like Zippy’s Restaurants goes a long way in continuing to provide these services free of charge.”
Last year, it cost Special Olympics Hawaii $542 to serve just one participant.
Zippy’s Restaurants operates in 24 locations on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island.
