Freezing temperatures spark wild hairdos at Canada hot springs

Of all the winter-related stories this season, this one might be the most hair-raising.

Takhini Hot Springs in Canada’s Yukon Territory just wrapped up its annual hair freezing contest.

Contestants take a dip in the hot pools, and when they come out, their hair instantly freezes in the minus-20 degree weather.

The participants can then sculpt their hair into any style they want — the wilder the better — and submit a photo on the company’s Facebook page.

A winner is chosen from there, and they take home $150.
