Brandon Abiva was sentenced Friday for his involvement in a road rage case from 2013.
Abiva was with two friends on motorcycles when they confronted a woman in her car on the H-3 Freeway on Aug. 29, ’13. That’s when they followed her to Waimanalo and then allegedly got into a fight with the woman’s family.
Witnesses say Abiva pulled out a gun and fired at least two shots into the ground.
His attorney Michael Green said “I don’t know what happens to people behind the steering wheel. I’ve never known that. They just really, really get mad and terrible things happen. Here, it could have really been bad, and thankfully it wasn’t. You know, my client learned a lesson. People walked away and they were OK.”
Abiva was sentenced to five years probation and 250 hours of community service.
