Some Hawaii filmmakers need your help getting to the big screen in a galaxy far, far away.

A family of filmmakers on the Big Island has made it to the finals of the nationwide Star Wars Fan Film Contest.

Cameron Cousins stars in “Chronicles of Young Skywalker the Dark Clone Unleashed,” a short film shot and produced by dad Brent Cousins and uncle Blake Cousins.

In it, Cameron does light saber drills with a toy Tie Fighter and battles his evil self as he trains to become a Jedi. He was three years old at the time.

If their movie wins the Audience Choice Award, it will screen in a special Star Wars celebration in Anaheim, Calif., in April.

“We’re just big Star Wars fans from the beginning, so we’ve always dreamed of making a Star Wars movie or being part of it, and this is something like a dream come true,” said Blake Cousins.

To help the Cousins win, vote for their movie online (registration required).
