Diabetes facts, symptoms and preventation

Research shows that diabetes is the fifth leading cause of death in Hawaii.  And unfortunately, diabetes in adults, both in Hawaii and across the nation, continues to increase.

Trini sits down with Dr. Steven Lum and registered dietitian nutritionist, Amanda O’Neil from Castle Medical Center to get more information on the disease and its symptoms.

 

Symptoms of Diabetes:

  • Urinating often
  • Bring thirsty more often than usual
  • Unusual weight loss
  • Increased general fatigue
  • Blurry vision
  • Wounds that won’t heal
  • Numb or tingling of hands and feet
