Wake Up 2day previews “Kilauea: Facing the Fire”

January 3, 1983, the day Kilauea volcano came alive. Thirty-two years later, the explosive eruptions continue and while Kilauea creates, it also destroys, all while offering something very primal, even pre-historic. It is the very essence of earth creating itself. At 300,000 to 600,000 years old, it is also the youngest of Hawaii’s volcanoes, but has certainly made the greatest, and longest lasting impression.
KHON2 was recently granted exclusive access to areas many have never been to before.
News anchor Howard Dashefsky joined us on Wake Up 2day to talk about KHON2’s special presentation, “Kilauea: Facing the Fire.”
The half-hour special airs tonight at 9:30, on KHON2.
