A longtime Honolulu bakery has closed its doors for the time being after being in business for more than 30 years.
Makiki Bake Shop, which is located on Young Street, said goodbye to its customers Tuesday. Store manager Charlie Bright said the landowner and the bake shop could not come to an agreement on a new lease.
The bakery was previously on Wilder Avenue before moving to its current location in the mid 1980s.
Bright said they are looking for a new location and hope to reopen sometime in the near future.
Once the shop is open again, they’ll let people know via social media through its Twitter account.
