Hawaii Prince Hotel Gala to benefit Easter Seals Hawaii and autism

In honor of National Autism Awareness month, there’s a fundraiser at Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki, with all proceeds benefiting Easter Seals Hawaii and its autism program. It’s also to celebrate 25 years of serving guests and the community.


Ron Brandvold, Easter Seals Hawaii president and CEO, explains that the gala will feature entertainment by Na Hōkū Hanohano Award recipients Maunalua, a special performance by the Easter Seals Hawaii ‘ohana, a live auction, and dishes prepared by chefs of Prince’s present and past:

Gary Strehl, the hotel’s first executive chef and one of the founding chefs of Hawaii Regional Cuisine

Eberhard “Hardy” Kintscher, the hotel’s first executive sous chef, now the executive chef at Michel’s at the Colony Surf

Goran Streng, former Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki executive chef, currently executive chef at Tango’s Contemporary Café

Kirby Wong, current executive chef at Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki

Masayami Shimoyama, Hakone’s Master Chef

Peter Abacar, Jr., Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel executive chef

Donn Takahashi, president of Prince Resorts Hawaii, who will also create a special dish


It’s on Monday, April 20, from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the Mauna Kea Ballroom in Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki. Three levels of sponsorship with VIP benefits include: $10,000 Platinum Tables of 10; $5,000 Gold Tables of 10; $2,500 Silver Tables of 10; or individual tickets at $250 per person. All seats include food, wine and complimentary valet parking.
