Schedule for Oahu lane closures: April 3-10

Here’s the upcoming schedule of lane closures on Oahu, starting with one from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, as Kaukonahua Road will be closed from Wilikina Drive to Farrington Highway for road restriping.

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— H-1 FREEWAY —

WAIMALU TO WAIPAHU 
9 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, April 10: Multiple lane closures in the westbound direction between the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) and the Waikele/Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 7) for paving and striping work.

Monday – Friday Morning

  • One right lane closed between the H-1/H-2 Split and the Waikele/Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 7) from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Two right lanes closed from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Monday – Friday Morning

  • Two right lanes closed between the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) and the H-1/H-2 Split from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Three right lanes closed from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
  • Full closure of the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Monday – Wednesday Morning

  • Full Closure of the Kamehameha Highway On-Ramp to the H-1 Freeway from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Also 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10: Right lane closure in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 Split for road widening.

PEARL CITY 
6 p.m.-4 a.m. Monday through Friday morning, April 10: Multiple lane closures in the eastbound direction at the Aiea Pedestrian Overpass between the Kaamilo Street Overpass and the Aiea/Kaneohe/Honolulu Off-Ramp (Exit 13A).

  • Three left lanes will be closed from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Four left lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Construction will replace approximately 10,000 square feet of deteriorated pavement on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction. The concrete deck will be replaced by approximately 84 precast panels.

SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
9 p.m.-12:01 a.m. Friday through Monday morning: Two right lanes closed in the westbound direction between the Keehi Interchange and the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Off-Ramp (Exit 15B). All ramps will remain open. Speed limits will be reduced to 15 mph in order to minimize traffic induced vibrations that may lead to cracking in the newly repaired deck.

HONOLULU 
9 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday morning, April 10: Lane closures in both directions between the Radford Drive Overpass and the Waikiki/Nimitz Highway Off-Ramp (Exit 18A) for pavement striping installations.

MAKAKILO
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday through Friday: Full closure of the Makakilo On-Ramp to the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Kalaeloa Boulevard Overpass and Kapolei/Ewa Off-Ramp (Exit 3) for utility repairs.

PEARL CITY
8 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning, April 10: Three left lanes closed in the eastbound direction at the H-1/H-2 Merge between the Waipahu Street Overpass and the Waiawa Road Overpass for the rail project.

SALT LAKE
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Right lane closure on the Arizona Memorial/Stadium Off-Ramp (Exit 15A) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction for the rail project.

WAIPAHU
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Shoulder closure at the Paiwa Street On-Ramp to the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction for chain link fence installations. Also 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, shoulder closure in the eastbound direction between Kunia/Waipahu/Ewa Off-Ramp (Exit 5) and the H-1/H-2 Merge for chain link fence installations.

MAKAHA
6 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday: Lane closure in the westbound direction between Makua Valley Road and Satellite Tracking Station Road for roadside maintenance. Also 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10, right lane closure in the southbound direction between Makau Street and Kili Drive for road repairs.

NANAKULI
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10: Right lane closure in the northbound direction between Kahau Street and Mohihi Street for road repairs.

PEARL CITY (WEEKEND)
8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday through Friday morning, April 10: Right lane closure in the eastbound direction between the H-1 Freeway Underpass and Waiawa Road for the rail project. Also same days and times, full closure of the Farrington Highway eastbound On-Ramp to the H-2 Freeway in the northbound direction for the rail project..

WAIANAE TO MAKAHA
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, April 10: Lane closures in both directions between Kiapa Place and Plantation Road for utility repairs.

WAIPAHU

— KAHEKILI HIGHWAY —

1) KANEOHE
Lane closures on Kahekili Highway in the Kaneohe-bound direction at the Likelike Highway intersection between the H3 Freeway Overpass and Anoi Road on Monday, Apr. 6, through Tuesday, Apr. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for survey work.

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY —

HAWAII KAI
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10: Two lanes closed in the westbound direction between East Hind Drive and West Hind Drive for cold planing and resurfacing as part of the Kalanianaole Highway Resurfacing project. Left turns will be allowed up to West Hind Drive and from West Halemaumau Street onward. U-turns to head back eastbound will be allowed at West Halemaumau Street. Police will be stationed throughout the contra-flow section to help direct traffic.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10: Single lane closure in both directions for loop detector installations.

  • Lunalilo Home Road Intersection: Monday, Apr. 6
  • Paiko Drive Intersection: Tuesday, Apr. 7, through Thursday, Apr. 9
  • East Halemaumau Street Intersection: Friday, Apr. 10

KAILUA
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10: Shoulder lane closure in the northbound direction between Keolu Drive and Ulupii Street for roadside pavement installations.

WAIALAE IKI
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Friday, April 10: Lane closure in the westbound direction for tree trimming.

WAIMANALO 
6 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday: Lane closure in both directions between Aloiloi Street and Saddle City Road for tree trimming.

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY —

KAAAWA
8:30 p.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, April 10: Lane closure in the northbound direction between Kaaawa Valley Road and Kaaawa Place for excavation work. Also 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10, lane closure in the southbound direction between Kualoa Regional Park and Johnson Road for drainage installations.

MILILANI
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, April 10: Lane closures in the northbound direction between Ka Uka Boulevard and Lanikuhana Avenue for utility repairs.

8:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10: Lane closures in both directions between Ka Uka Boulevard and Waihau Street for roadway reconstruction and fence and guardrail installations. Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and use alternate roadways such as Kuahelani Avenue, Meheula Parkway, Lanikuhana Avenue, Ka Uka Boulevard and the H-2 Freeway.

24-hour shoulder lane closure Saturday through Friday, April 10, in both directions between Lanikuhana Avenue and Waihau Street for bus pad installations.

PEARL CITY TO AIEA 
Honolulu Rail Transit will be working on Kamehameha Highway this week at various locations.

  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Waiawa Road and Acacia Road.
  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Acacia Road and Waimano Home Road.
  • Lane closures in both directions between Kuleana Road and Kaonohi Street, Monday through Friday.
  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Lipoa Place and Pali Momi Street
  • Lane closures in both directions between Pali Momi Street and Salt Lake Boulevard, Monday through Friday.

WAIKELE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10: Lane closures in both directions at the Lumiaina Street intersection for road reconstruction.

  • Lane closures on Lumiaina Street, eastbound, on Monday, Apr. 6, through Friday, Apr. 10

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10: Right lane closure in the westbound direction between Kekaulike Street and Kukahi Street for utility installations.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday: Right lane closure in the eastbound direction between Mokauea Street and Waiakamilo Road for sidewalk repairs.

PEARL HARBOR
7 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday: Full closure of the Nimitz Highway On-Ramp to the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between O’Malley Boulevard and Valkenburgh Street for road repaving work.

7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10: Two lanes closed in the eastbound direction between South Avenue and Valkenburgh Street for road repaving work.

8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Right lane closure on the Nimitz Highway Off-Ramp in the westbound direction between Valkenburgh Street and Kamehameha Highway for the rail project.

SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT 
9 p.m.-12:01 a.m. Friday through Monday morning: Two right lanes closed on Nimitz Highway in the westbound direction between Catlin Drive and Aolele Street from 9 p.m. Friday, Apr. 3, through 12:01 a.m. Monday morning, Apr. 6, as a safety precaution due to deck repairs happening above.

— ALA MOANA BOULEVARD —

HONOLULU
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10: Lane closure in both directions between Queen Street and Atkinson Drive for roadside reconstruction work. Also same days and times, right lane closure in the eastbound direction between Kahanamoku Street and Kalakaua Avenue for sewage work.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 10: Roving single lane closure in the westbound direction between Liliha Street and Palama Street for striping and loop detector installations.

9 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Monday: Lane closures in both directions between Vineyard Boulevard and the H-1 Freeway for road striping installations, including H-1 Freeway eastbound Punchbowl Street Off-Ramp (Exit 21B) and Punchbowl Street On-Ramp to the H-1 Freeway westbound.
