All eastbound lanes open after truck overturns on H-1

Honolulu police have reopened all eastbound lanes of the H-1 Freeway after a truck overturned Thursday.

Three left lanes were closed just past the Pearl City on-ramp at around 3:14 p.m.

The incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. near the Kaahumanu Street overpass.

According to Emergency Medical Services, the truck apparently blew a tire and rolled over on the freeway.

The 40-year-old male driver was thrown from the vehicle. He was hospitalized in critical condition.

A 42-year-old female passenger was not ejected, and hospitalized in serious condition.

EMS says neither person was wearing a seat belt.

Eastbound traffic was gridlocked past the H-1, H-2 merge and through Kunia for several hours.
