Firefighters are working to put out a brush fire on the southern slopes of Haleakala.
It began at 12:45 p.m. near mile marker 22 of Piilani Highway, near Kahikinui Homesteads.
Upon arrival, firefighters found approximately two acres burning with winds blowing from 20-25 mph.
Makawao and Kula fire engines, two water tankers and Air 1 are working to contain the fire to the mauka side of the highway.
The cause is unknown at this time.
