Schedule of Oahu lane closures: May 3-8

SCHEDULE OF LANE CLOSURES (Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.):

— H-1 FREEWAY —

HONOLULU
9 p.m.-5 a.m. Wednesday through Thursday morning: Roving single lane closure in both directions between the Middle Street Overpass and the Ward Avenue Overpass for lighting fixture replacements.

PEARL CITY 
8 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Friday morning: Three left lanes closed in both directions between the H-1/H-2 Merge and the Waiawa Road Overpass for the rail project.

  • Three left lanes closed in the eastbound direction from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • Three left lanes closed in the westbound direction from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

6 p.m.-4 a.m. Monday through Friday morning: Lane closures in the eastbound direction at the Aiea Pedestrian Overpass between the Kaamilo Street Overpass and the Aiea/Kaneohe/Honolulu Off-Ramp (Exit 13A)

  • Three center lanes will be closed from 6-9 p.m.
  • Four center lanes will be closed from 9 p.m.-4 a.m.

Please pay attention to traffic control signs as the traffic will be routed around the closure. Construction will replace approximately 10,000 square feet of deteriorated pavement on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction. The concrete deck will be replaced by approximately 84 precast panels.

PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU
9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right lane closure in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 Split for deck widening.

  • One right lane closed Monday through Wednesday and Friday
  • Two right lanes closed Thursday

PEARL HARBOR
5 p.m.-1 a.m. Monday through Tuesday morning: Left lane closure of the Hickam AFB/Pearl Harbor Off-Ramp (Exit 15B) from the freeway in the westbound direction for road repaving.

SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Now through 12:01 a.m. Monday morning: Two right lanes in the westbound direction between the Keehi Interchange and the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Off-Ramp (Exit 15B) for airport viaduct improvements. All ramps will remain open. Speed limits will be reduced to 15 mph in order to minimize traffic induced vibrations that may lead to cracking in the newly repaired deck.

WAIPAHU
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Shoulder closure at the Paiwa Street On-Ramp to the freeway in the westbound direction for chain link fence installations.

9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Shoulder closure in the eastbound direction between Kunia/Waipahu/Ewa Off-Ramp (Exit 5) and the H-1/H-2 Merge for chain link fence installations.

— H-3 FREEWAY —

KANEOHE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right shoulder closure in the Honolulu-bound direction between the Mokapu Saddle Road On-Ramp and the Kapaa Quarry Place Underpass for utility installations.
 
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right shoulder closure in the Kaneohe-bound direction between the Kamehameha Highway On-Ramp and the Kapaa Quarry Place Underpass for utility installations.

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY —

EWA

9 p.m.-5 a.m. Monday through Friday for the rail project: Inside lanes of the Kunia Road Overpass will be closed. The Waipahu loop off-ramp from Fort Weaver Road onto Farrington Highway will also be closed during those hours.

The eastbound lanes of the highway below the Kunia Road overpass will also be closed during those times. Work will run approximately two weeks.

EAST KAPOLEI/EWA

Seven days a week through April 2015 for the rail project:

Kualakai Parkway (North-South Road) to Old Fort Weaver Road
That section of the highway is now open in both the eastbound and westbound directions on weekdays between 5 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

That section of the highway will continue to be closed weeknights between 7:30 p.m.-5 a.m. through May as part of rail guideway work.

During the weeknight highway closure, drivers traveling between East Kapolei and the Ewa/Waipahu region will still be able to access either end by using the H-1 Freeway or Kapolei Parkway/Geiger Road. Farrington Highway is open on weekends.

WAIPAHU

Monday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:

The outside lanes at various locations along Farrington Highway in each direction will be closed weekdays for utility relocation work between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Leoku Street to Leokane Street

  • The inside lanes are closed between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
  • Left turns will be restricted in the westbound direction from Farrington Highway onto Leoole Street.
  • One of the two eastbound left-turn lanes from Farrington Highway onto Leoku Street is temporarily closed 24/7 because of shaft and column work.

Leokane Street to Pupukahi Street
The outside lanes are closed weeknights between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

Waipahu Depot Road to Mokuola Street
The inside eastbound lane is closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., and Saturday, as needed, during those same hours. The westbound lanes are closed weeknights between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

Pupukahi Street to Pupupuhi Street
The outside lanes are closed weeknights between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

Pupupuhi Street to Aniani Place
The outside lanes are closed weeknights between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY —

HAWAII KAI
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Two lanes closed in the westbound direction between Kirkwood Street and West Hind Drive for cold planing and resurfacing as part of the Kalanianaole Highway Resurfacing project.

Left Turns will be allowed up to West Hind Drive and from West Halemaumau Street onward. Access to West and East Hind Drive will be allowed for westbound traffic only. U-turns to head back eastbound will be allowed at West Halemaumau Street. Police will be stationed throughout the contra-flow section to help direct traffic.

9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Single lane closures in the westbound direction at the Keahole Street intersection for utility installations.

KAILUA
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right shoulder closure in the northbound direction between Keolu Drive and Ulupii Street for utility installations.

8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday: Lane closure in the northbound direction between Kanapuu Drive and Keolu Drive for utility pole installations.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday through Friday: Right lane closure in both directions at the Auloa Road intersection between Uluhala Street and Kapaa Quarry Road for utility installations.

WAIMANALO
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tuesday: Lane closure in the eastbound direction between Huli Street and Bell Street for pole installations.

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY —

KAAAWA
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in the northbound direction between Johnson Road and Kaaawa Valley Road for guardrail repairs.

7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in the northbound direction between Keo Place and Trout Farm Road for sandbag installations. Traffic will be contraflowed in the remaining open lane.

KANEOHE
8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.: Right lane closure in the southbound direction between Koolau View Drive and Kalanianaole Highway for tree trimming.

MILILANI
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Roving lane closures in both directions between Ka Uka Boulevard and Kipapa Street for utility and guardrail installations.
Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and use alternate roadways such as Kuahelani Avenue, Meheula Parkway, Lanikuhana Avenue, Ka Uka Boulevard and the H-2 Freeway.

AIEA/ALOHA STADIUM

Monday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:

Kuleana Road to Kaonohi Street

  • A section of Kanuku Street mauka of the highway is closed weeknights between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. Traffic will be detoured to Hekaha Street and Lokowai Street. Business access to Waimalu Shopping Center and resident access will be maintained during closure times.
  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed weeknights between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. with various left-turn pocket restrictions. Two eastbound lanes of the highway are also closed overnight between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • One eastbound lane of the highway near Blaisdell Park will be closed 24/7.
  • Utility relocation work in the area is scheduled to run until mid-2015.

Lipoa Place to Pali Momi Street

  • The right eastbound lane of the highway near the Pearl Kai Shopping Center is closed 24/7 as part of roadway widening work through mid-2015.
  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. with various left-turn pocket restrictions. Two eastbound lanes of Kamehameha Highway are closed between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.

Pali Momi Street to Honomanu Street

  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. with various left-turn pocket restrictions. Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
  • One eastbound lane of the highway near McGrew Point is closed weekdays between 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. through mid-2015 for sidewalk work.
  • One westbound lane of the highway will be closed 24/7 between Honomanu Street and Moanalua Freeway now through Wednesday morning for gas line work. The eastbound lane of the highway in that area will be closed 24/7 as part of the work.

Near Aloha Stadium

  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed weeknights between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. with various left-turn pocket restrictions.
  • Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
  • The westbound Moanalua Freeway on-ramp near Aloha Stadium will be closed from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. weeknights.

PEARL CITY

24-hour lane closures for the rail project:

Waiawa Road to Acacia Road 

  • One eastbound lane and one of the two eastbound left-turn lanes from the highway onto Acacia Road fronting Pearl Highlands Center are closed 24/7 through Summer 2015 for foundation and column worrk.
  • Eastbound U-turns will be allowed at the intersection during the work.
  • One westbound left-turn lane and the inside westbound lane of the highway near the Acacia Road intersection will also be closed 24/7 through Summer 2015.

Acacia Road to Waimano Home Road 
24/7 lanes closures are in place along the highway for foundation and column work through late 2015:

  • One eastbound left-turn lane from the highway onto Waimano Home Road and the inside eastbound lane of the highway will be closed.
  • One westbound left-turn lane from the highway onto Lehua Avenue and the and the inside westbound lane of the highway will also be closed as part of column foundation work. Westbound U-turns will still be allowed at the Waimano Home Road intersection.

Kamehameha Highway to Waiawa Road 
The eastbound lanes of the highway are closed weeknights between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

Monday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:

Waiawa Road to Waimano Home Road 

  • One westbound lane of the highway near Acacia Road is closed weeknights between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. with various left-turn pocket restrictions.
  • One eastbound lane of the highway in the same vicinity is also closed weeknights between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • The intersection at Acacia Road is closed after 9 p.m

PEARL HARBOR/AIRPORT

Monday through Friday lane closures for the rail project:

Kamehameha Highway from Arizona Street to Makalapa Road

  • Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for utility work.
  • Motorists should be aware that driving lanes may be shifted during the work.

Kamehameha Highway and Makalapa Road/Radford Drive Intersection

  • The right-turn lane from the highway onto Radford Drive is closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for utility work. Right turns will still be permitted at the intersection.

Kamehameha Highway from Makalapa Road to Center Drive

  • Two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane of the highway are closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for utility work.
  • The left-turn lane into Makalapa Gate will be contraflowed along the highway median.

Kamehameha Highway and Center Drive Intersection

  • The right-turn lane from Center Drive (mauka) onto Kamehameha Highway is closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for utility work.
  • The westbound bus stop at Kamehameha Highway and Center Drive is temporarily closed on weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for utility work.
  • The outside westbound lane of Mauka Frontage Road/Kamehameha Highway near Center Drive is closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for utility work.

H-1 Freeway (Exit 15A) Westbound to Kamehameha Highway/Center Drive intersection

  • The right lane of Exit 15A is closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for utility work.

Keehi Lagoon Beach Park

  • One lane of the park access road adjacent to the playing fields and parking lots will be closed weekdays between 8 a.m.-3 p.m. for overhead lighting work.

WAHIAWA
8:30 p.m.-4 a.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in the southbound direction between Avocado Street and Higgins Road for paving work.

WAIKELE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closures in both directions at the Lumiaina Street intersection for road reconstruction.

  • Lane closures on Lumiaina Street, eastbound, on Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8
  • Lane closures on Lumiaina Street, westbound, on Tuesday, May 5, through Wednesday, May 6
  • Lane closures on Kamehameha Highway, northbound, on Tuesday, May 5, through Wednesday, May 6
  • Lane closures on Kamehameha Highway, southbound, on Thursday, May 7, through Friday, May 8

The Lumiaina Street Traffic Improvements project will add a dedicated left turn lane on Lumiaina Street in the eastbound direction, turning onto the northbound lanes of Kamehameha Highway towards Mililani.  Traffic signals will be modified to provide a left-turn only green arrow for these lanes.  Work is anticipated to be completed in June 2015.

— LIKELIKE HIGHWAY —

KANEOHE
9 p.m.-4 a.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closure in the Kaneohe-bound direction at the Anoi Road intersection between Kahekili Highway and Kamehameha Highway for repairs to the Anoi Road Pedestrian Overpass.

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY —

HONOLULU
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. and 8 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closures in both directions between Punchbowl Street and Sumner Street for cable replacements. One lane closed during daytime hours and two lanes closed overnight.

  • Lane closures Sunday morning, May 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
  • Lane closures Monday, May 4, through Friday morning, May 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily
  • Lane closures Monday night, May 4, through Friday morning, May 8, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., nightly

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right lane closure in the westbound direction between Kekaulike Street and Sumner Street for paving and restriping.

PEARL HARBOR 
9 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Sunday through Friday: Lane closures in both directions between O’Malley Boulevard and Valkenburgh Street for road installations.

8:30 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Thursday through Friday: Right lane closed at the Arizona Memorial/Stadium Off-Ramp to Kamehameha Highway in the westbound direction for repaving work.

8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right lane closed at the Arizona Memorial/Stadium Off-Ramp to Kamehameha Highway in the westbound direction for the rail project.

8:30 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday morning: Full closure of the Hickam AFB/Naval Base On-Ramp to the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction for road repaving.

SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Now through 12:01 a.m. Monday: Two right lanes closed in the westbound direction between Aolele Street and Elliott Street as a safety precaution due to deck repairs happening above.

— PALI HIGHWAY —

NUUANU
8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Tuesday: Full closure of the Nuuanu Pali Drive Off-Ramp to the Pali Lookout in the Honolulu-bound direction for tree trimming.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Right lane closed in the eastbound direction between Kahanamoku Street and Kalakaua Avenue for sewage maintenance.

— SOUTH KING STREET —

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Two lanes closed in the westbound direction at the Kapiolani Street Intersection for underground maintenance.

— HALAWA HEIGHTS ROAD —
