McKinley High School installs solar panels

McKinley High School

McKinley High School is going green.

They’re installing new photovoltaic panels.

They were donated by the Department of Education’s Ka Hei program  which was created to introduce new technology to schools while cutting down on energy costs.

“It’s a step in the right direction for schools in the state of Hawaii to cut energy costs give kids opportunity to learn from alternate energy sources and win win for community and environment. So this is just terrific,” said Neal Takamori, former athletics director, Hall of Honor inductee.

McKinley High School is one of nine schools that’ll get the new photovoltaic panels.
