Firefighters respond to evening Nanakuli brush fire

Honolulu firefighters responded to another brush fire in Waianae Saturday evening.

A HFD public information officer says the crews were dispatched to Lualualei Naval Road in Nanakuli after reports of a brush fire in the area behind Sack N Save.

The call came in around 6:45 p.m.

Six companies arrived to the scene.

Firefighters say about five acres were burned from the blaze.

The fire was contained at 7:27 p.m., and extinguished at 8:53 p.m.

No injuries were reported, and no residences were in danger.

Several tents were near the scene of the brush fire, but no property was reported to be damaged.
