There’s a cute new addition to the Honolulu Zoo for summer visitors to check out.
A baby two-toed sloth was born just a few months ago. The baby of a yet-determined gender was hanging onto its mother Friday morning.
But this little critter isn’t the only new thing coming to the zoo.
Zoo director Dr. Baird Fleming said besides a new filtration system installed in the hippopotamus pool, “we’ve got African penguins coming in and we have a new reptile and amphibian facility being built.”
All this comes with an important accreditation inspection coming up in November which, if the zoo fails to pass, could result in the loss of animals.
