Road Work for the Week: June 27-July 3

SCHEDULE OF LANE CLOSURES (Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.):

— H-1 FREEWAY —

PEARL CITY
8 p.m.-4 a.m. Monday through Thursday: Lane closures in the eastbound direction at the Kaamilo Street Overpass between the Kaonohi Street Overpass and the Aiea/Kaneohe/Honolulu Off-Ramp (Exit 13A) for the rail project.

8 p.m.-10 a.m. Saturday through Sunday morning, and 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday morning: Up to three lanes closed in both directions between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and the Waiawa Road Overpass for the rail project. The number of lanes closed will vary depending on the location of the roadwork.

PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU
8 p.m.-6 p.m. Saturday through Sunday: Right lane closures in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the Waipahu Off-Ramp (Exit 8B) for deck widening:

  • Three right lanes closed from 8 p.m.-10 a.m. through Sunday morning
  • Two right lanes closed 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday
  • One right lane closed 2-6 p.m. Sunday

9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Right lanes closed in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 Split for deck widening.

SALT LAKE
8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Lane closure of the Arizona Memorial/Stadium Off-Ramp (Exit 15A) to Kamehameha Highway in the westbound direction for the rail project.

SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
7 p.m.-5 a.m. Tuesday through Friday morning: Two lanes closed in the eastbound direction from the Radford Drive Overpass to the Airport Off-Ramp (Exit 16) for deck sealing. All ramps will remain open.

Now through 12:01 a.m. Monday: Two left lanes closed in the westbound direction between the Keehi Interchange and the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Off-Ramp (Exit 15B). During this time, a shoulder lane will be open for use and all ramps will remain open.

Speed limits will be reduced to 15 mph in order to minimize traffic induced vibrations that may lead to cracking in the newly repaired deck. Airport Viaduct improvements include concrete deck replacements, expansion joint repairs, and pavement restriping. Work is located between the Pearl Harbor Interchange and the Keehi Interchange.

SALT LAKE TO PEARL CITY
9 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday morning: Three right lanes closed in the westbound direction between the Radford Drive Overpass and the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) for pavement marking installations.

WAIAWA INTERCHANGE
8 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday: Up to three westbound and eastbound lanes closed approaching the H-1/H-2 merge. Westbound lane closures begin 9 p.m. Number of lanes closed may vary depending on location of work along the freeway. Up to three westbound lanes will be closed 8 p.m.-10 a.m. Saturday through Sunday morning.

Westbound Waipahu Off-Ramp will be closed 8 p.m-10 a.m. Saturday through Sunday morning.

WAIPAHU
9 p.m.-4:30 a.m. Sunday through Thursday morning: Right lane closures in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu Off-Ramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 Split for striping work.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Shoulder closure in the westbound direction between the Waikele/Waipahu On-Ramp (Exit 7) and the Kunia/Waipahu/Ewa Off-Ramp (Exit 5) for utility installations.

— H-2 FREEWAY —

MILILANI TO WAHIAWA
8 p.m.-5 a.m. Sunday: Alternating lane closure in the northbound direction between the Mililani Mauka Off-Ramp (Exit 5A) and the Wahiawa Off-Ramp (Exit 8) for bridge joint repair.

8 p.m.-5 a.m. Monday through Thursday morning: One to two lanes closed in the northbound direction between the Ka Uka Boulevard Overpass and the Mililani Mauka Off-Ramp (Exit 5A) for bridge joint repair.

— H-3 FREEWAY —

HALAWA TO KANEOHE
7 p.m.-7 a.m. Saturday through Sunday morning: Full closure in the Kaneohe-bound direction between the Halawa Valley Street Underpass and the Likelike Highway Off-Ramp (Exit 9) for routine tunnel cleaning and maintenance.

KANEOHE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Right shoulder closure in the Honolulu-bound direction between the Mokapu Saddle Road On-Ramp and the Kapaa Quarry Place Underpass for roadside maintenance.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Right shoulder closure in the Kaneohe-bound direction between the Kamehameha Highway On-Ramp and the Kapaa Quarry Place Underpass for utility installations.

8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Left shoulder closure in the Honolulu-bound direction between the Mokapu Saddle Road Underpass and the Kamehameha Highway Off-Ramp (Exit 11) for median maintenance.

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY —

EAST KAPOLEI/EWA
7:30 p.m.-5 a.m. weeknights: Closed between Kualakai Parkway (North-South Road) and Old Fort Weaver Road Loop for the rail project. Road is open on weekends.

The outside lanes of Keahumoa Parkway closed 24/7.

NANAKULI TO KAENA POINT
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Alternating lane closure in both directions between Nanakuli Avenue and Kaena Point for overhead sign replacements.

PEARL CITY
9 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Thursday morning: Two lanes closed in the eastbound direction between the Kamehameha Highway Overpass and Waiawa Road for the rail project.

8 p.m.-10 a.m. Saturday through Sunday morning, and 9 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Thursday morning: Full closure of the Farrington Highway eastbound on-ramp to the H-2 Freeway in the northbound direction for the rail project.

PEARL CITY TO WAIPAHU
8 p.m.-10 a.m. Saturday through Sunday morning, and 9 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Thursday morning: Single lane closure on Farrington Highway in the westbound direction between Waiawa Road and Kahualii Street, for the rail project.

WAIANAE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Lane closure in the northbound direction between Ala Poko Street and Bayview Street for manhole repairs.

WAIPAHU
Sunday through Wednesday lane closures for the rail project:

The Fort Weaver Road/Kunia Road overpass will be closed weeknights for two weeks beginning Sunday. The work and related lane closures are expected to run from Sunday-July 9.

The southbound direction of the overpass will be closed 9 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday. Southbound drivers will be detoured onto Old Fort Weaver Road via the Ewa off-ramp and back onto Fort Weaver Road.

The northbound direction of the overpass will be closed 8 p.m.-3 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday. Northbound drivers will be detoured onto the highway via the Waipahu off-ramp. Drivers along Farrington can turn left onto Leoku Street and Waipahu Street to re-enter Fort Weaver Road heading northbound.

The eastbound lanes of the highway at the Fort Weaver Road overpass will also be closed 9 p.m.-4 a.m.

Farrington Highway through Waipahu
Outside lanes along the highway closed at various location for utility relocation work between 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Leoku Street to Leokane Street

  • The inside lanes are closed between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.-6 a.m., including Saturday, as needed
  • Westbound left turns restricted from the highway onto Leoole Street.
  • One of the two eastbound left-turn lanes from the highway onto Leoku Street is temporarily closed 24/7 because of shaft and column work.

Waipahu Depot Road to Mokuola Street

  • Westbound lanes and a short section of Mokuola Street on the mauka side are closed between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.
  • West end of Moloalo Street near Mokuola Street closed between 7 p.m.-6 a.m.

Mokuola Street to Paiwa Street
The inside lanes are closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Paiwa Street to Kahualii Street
The inside lanes are closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Kahualii Street to Kamehameha Highway
One eastbound lane closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

9 p.m.-4 a.m. Sunday through Thursday morning: Lane closure in the eastbound direction between Old Fort Weaver Road and Leoku Street for the rail project.

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY —

AINA HAINA
9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Thursday: Right lane closure in the eastbound direction between Kalaniiki Street and Waa Street for utility installations.

HAWAII KAI
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Tuesday: Lane closure in both directions between Nenue Street and East Hind Drive for sewage work.

9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Lane closure in the eastbound direction between West Hind Drive and West Halemaumau Street for pavement striping installations as part of the Kalanianaole Highway Resurfacing project.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday: Lane closure in the eastbound direction between Kealahou Street and the Hawaii Kai Golf Course for manhole work.

KAILUA
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Right shoulder closure in the northbound direction between Keolu Drive and Ulupii Street for roadside maintenance.

WAIMANALO
7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Tuesday: Lane closure in the westbound direction between Makapuu Lighthouse Road and Hughes Road for road repaving work.

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY —

AIEA/ALOHA STADIUM
Monday through Thursday lane closures for the rail project:

Kuleana Road to Kaonohi Street

  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. Two eastbound lanes of the highway are also closed overnight between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m. Various left-turn pocket restrictions will be in place.
  • One eastbound lane of the highway near Blaisdell Park will be closed 24/7 for roadway widening.
  • One westbound lane of Moanalua Road closed near Hoomalu Street between 9 p.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Intersection at Kaahumanu Street closed after 8 p.m.

Lipoa Place to Pali Momi Street

  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • One westbound lane closed between 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
  • Intersection at Pali Momi closed after 8 p.m.

Pali Momi Street to Honomanu Street

  • Two westbound lanes of the highway are closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.
  • One eastbound lane of the highway betwen Aiea Kai Place and Honomanu Street closed between 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Honomanu Street to Salt Lake Blvd. near Aloha Stadium

  • Up to three westbound lanes of the highway closed between 8 p.m-7 a.m.
  • Two eastbound lanes of the highway are closed between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m. Two westbound lanes closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m.
  • One westbound lane of the highway closed from Honomanu Street to Salt Lake Blvd. between 8 a.m-3:30 p.m.
  • Westbound on-ramp to Moanalua Freeway closed between 9 p.m.-5 a.m.
  • Eastbound on-ramp to the highway from Moanalua Road closed between 9 p.m.-5 a.m.

PEARL CITY TO AIEA 
Honolulu Rail Transit will be working on Kamehameha Highway this week at various locations:

  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Waiawa Road and Acacia Road.
  • 24/7 lane closures in both directions between Acacia Road and Waimano Home Road.
  • 24/7 inside eastbound lane closure between Puu Poni Street and Kuleana Road. Two westbound lanes closed overnight between 8 p.m.-7 a.m.
  • One westbound lane near Acacia Road closed between 8 p.m.-7 a.m. One eastbound lane also closed between 7 p.m.-5:30 a.m.

PEARL HARBOR/AIRPORT
Monday through Thursday lane closures for the rail project:

Arizona Memorial Place to Arizona Street

  • One eastbound lane of the highway closed between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for utility work.

Arizona Street to Makalapa Road

  • Two right eastbound lanes of the highway are closed weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for utility work.
  • Right-turn only lane into Makalapa Gate is intermittently closed, right turn permitted at intersection.
  • Pedestrians in the area are asked to use the makai sidewalk.

Makalapa Road to Center Drive

  • One eastbound lane of the highway near the Makalapa/Radford intersection closed between 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for utility work.
  • Single shifting westbound lane of the highway closed between 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for utility work.

KAAAWA
24/7 lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in the northbound direction between Keo Place and Trout Farm Road for emergency shoreline improvements. Traffic will be contraflowed in the remaining open lane. Motorists are advised to expect delays.

MILILANI TO WAHIAWA
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Lane closures in both directions between Wilikina Drive and Wikao Street for utility installations.

MILILANI
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Lane closures in the southbound direction between Kuahelani Avenue to Lanikuhana Avenue for road repaving. One lane will be open for motorists at all times. Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and use alternate roadways such as Kuahelani Avenue, Meheula Parkway, Lanikuhana Avenue, Ka Uka Boulevard and the H-2 Freeway.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Lane closures in various locations in both directions between Ka Uka Boulevard and Waihau Street for guardrail repairs.

PEARL CITY
9:30 p.m.-2 a.m. Saturday through Sunday, and 6 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Lane closures in both directions between Kuleana Road and Puu Poni Street for bridge deck widening of the H-1 Freeway.

PEARL HARBOR
9 p.m.-5 a.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closures in both directions between Honomanu Street and Salt Lake Boulevard for the rail project.

WAIKANE TO KAAAWA
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Alternating lane closure in both directions between Waikane Valley Road and Kaaawa Valley Road for guardrail installations. Traffic will be contraflowed in the open lane.

WAIKELE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday: Lane closures in both directions at the Lumiaina Street intersection for road reconstruction. Left turn lane closed on Lumiaina Street, eastbound, Monday through Tuesday.

The Lumiaina Street Traffic Improvements project will add a dedicated left turn lane on Lumiaina Street in the eastbound direction, turning onto the northbound lanes of Kamehameha Highway towards Mililani. Traffic signals will be modified to provide a left-turn only green arrow for these lanes.

— LIKELIKE HIGHWAY —

KANEOHE
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Single lane closure in both directions between the H-3 Freeway Overpass and the Wilson Tunnels for electrical work.

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY —

PEARL HARBOR
8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Right lane closed at the Arizona Memorial/Stadium Off-Ramp to Kamehameha Highway in the westbound direction for the rail project.

SALT LAKE TO HONOLULU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Now through 12:01 a.m. Monday morning: Two right lanes closed in the westbound direction between Aolele Street and Elliott Street as a safety precaution due to deck repairs happening above.

— ALA MOANA BOULEVARD —

HONOLULU
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Lane closure in both directions between Queen Street and Atkinson Drive for concrete pumping and deliveries.

8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Right lane closed in the eastbound direction between Kahanamoku Street and Kalakaua Avenue for sewage maintenance.

— VINEYARD BOULEVARD —

HONOLULU
8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Thursday: Roving single left lane closure in both directions between Palama Street and the eastbound H-1 Freeway On-Ramp for road repairs.

The Vineyard Boulevard Resurfacing Project will resurface 10.5 lane miles from Palama Street to the H-1 Freeway On-Ramp. The repairs include sidewalks, curbs, gutters, installing bus pads, replacing existing traffic signal heads, energy-efficient, LED optical units, extending left turn lanes at the Palama Street and Liliha Street intersections, and landscaping.

— MIDDLE STREET —

KALIHI
8 p.m.-4 a.m. Monday through Thursday morning: Alternating lane closure on Middle Street in the southbound direction between North King Street and Kamehameha Highway for the Middle Street Pavement Reconstruction project. There will also be a 24/7 sidewalk closure on the west side of Middle Street. Signage will be posted instructing pedestrians to use the east sidewalk.

— FORT WEAVER ROAD —

WAIPAHU
9 p.m.-5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday morning: Full closure on Fort Weaver Road in both directions between the H-1 Freeway Overpass and Laulaunui Street for the rail project.
