Mufi Hannemann

Former Honolulu mayor and gubernatorial candidate Mufi Hannemann is jumping back into an old career: He’s just been announced as the new president and CEO of the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association.

Hannemann previously worked for the HLTA in the same capacity from January 2011 to July 2012.

He’ll be succeeding George Szigeti, who left to work for the Hawaii Tourism Authority.

The HLTA is a state-wide organization that represents hotels, condos and other lodging entities.

Hannemann will start his new job on Monday, July 20.
