Maui Brewing Co. will open its first Oahu location at Holiday Inn Resort Waikiki Beachcomber next fall.
The restaurant will fill the current Jimmy Buffett’s at the Beachcomber space in partnership with Outrigger Enterprises Group and restaurateurs Chris Thibaut and Bill Terry. The space is slated to undergo a multimillion dollar renovation starting in spring 2016.
Until then, Jimmy Buffett’s will continue to operate under the management of Handcrafted Restaurants, LLC, of which Terry is a partner.
Maui Brewing Co. currently operates a brewery and tasting room in Kihei and a brewpub restaurant in Lahaina.
It was founded in 2005 by Garrett and Melanie Marrero with a mission to brew handcrafted ales and lagers, support local agriculture and care for the environment. It sources as many local products as possible and donates its spent grain to local farmers for feed and compost.
The 20,000-square-foot restaurant is expected to open in fall 2016.
