Six-time world stand-up paddle champion Kai Lenny hit the waves for a good cause Monday.

His Positively Kai Foundation hosted an ocean safety and surf experience day at Waikiki Beach for children with Na Kama Kai.

The 23-year-old frequently works with the non-profit, which is dedicated to empowering youth through ocean-based programs that focus on Hawaiian values and culture, and promote environmental stewardship.

“I can go from a world championship event all of a sudden to here in Waikiki at public’s beach teaching some young kids,” he said. “The satisfaction of getting a little kid on a wave and seeing the stoke on her face, it’s all like totally different worlds but the fun is the same.”

As part of today’s event T Galleria Hawaii and TAG Heuer presented a $10,000 donation check to Na Kama Kai.

Lenny was recently appointed a global ambassador of the luxury Swiss watch brand.
