Job seekers get face-time with businesses at Hawaii Career Expo

People looking for new jobs or maybe a career change went to the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall Tuesday for the Hawaii Career Expo.

Businesses looking to hire were there, hoping to find candidates to interview and potentially hire.

“In a world of online applications, sometimes a little face-time with company reps is what you need to one-up the competition,” said Emy Yamauchi-Wong, manager of ALTRES Office/Professional and ALTRES Technical on Wake Up 2day.

According to the state, 1,258 people filed for unemployment claims last week, which is down from the last three years.
