The Department of Parks and Recreation is reminding event organizers that the deadline to submit applications for a park use permit to hold shore water events on O’ahu’s most popular North Shore beach parks between September 1, 2015, and May 31, 2016, is Monday, August 10, 2015. Prior year applicants should have already received an application packet in the mail.
The deadline applies to surf, body surf event, bodyboarding, windsurfing, paddleboard surfing, wave skiing, wave riding, or any other shore water events at ‘Ehukai Beach Park, Mokulē’ia Beach Park, Hale’iwa Ali’i Beach Park, Sunset Beach Park, and/or Waimea Bay Beach Park.
Applications can be downloaded from www.honolulu.gov/parks or picked up at the Park Permit section office located in the Fasi Municipal Building, 1st Floor, located at 650 S. King Street, Honolulu.
Applications must be hand-delivered or mailed to the Department of Parks and Recreation, 1000 Uluohia Street, Suite 309, Kapolei, Hawaii, 96707 by close of business on Monday, August 10, 2015. Applications which are faxed or emailed will not be accepted.
Late or incomplete applications, or applications requesting more than four competition days will not be considered.
