Former UH football star quarterback Colt Brennan pleaded not guilty Monday to filing a false police report.
Honolulu police say Brennan reported back in June that his car had been stolen from his home.
Police later found his car near Kapiolani Boulevard. Officers looked at surveillance video and saw that Brennan was the one who parked the car and abandoned it.
Attorney Michael Green blames it on Brennan’s head injury from a car crash on Hawaii Island five years ago. “I’m not concerned about that, the actual charge, as I am whether or not he intended to give a false police report,” he said, “if his memory was compromised because of his conditions, because of what he was doing at the time.”
Brennan’s trial is scheduled to start at the end of September.
