The iconic, but dilapidated, Coco Palms Resort on Kauai will be demolished.
The county says it met the requirements and got all the permits to demolish and rebuild the resort.
Officials did not say when they’d start tearing it down, but it has to be done in six months.
Coco Palms Resort has remained vacant since Hurricane Iniki hit Kauai in 1992.
A developer has plans to rebuild the hotel, but they are not finalized.
