Wednesday’s Need to Know

The Kaneohe-bound lanes of the H-3 freeway are shut down Wednesday morning for filming of the TV show Hawaii Five-O. The lanes should reopen at 3 Wednesday afternoon.

All Kailua-bound lanes on the Pali Highway will be closed Thursday night, from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. for maintenance work. The closure will be between Nuuanu Pali Drive and the Pali Tunnels. You can take the Likelike, H-3, or Kalanianaole Highway instead.

Don’t forget your umbrella. We’re expecting more rainy weather today. A flash flood watch is in effect for all islands except Hawaii Island.

Honolulu police are looking for this man. He’s accused of sexually assaulting someone on a city bus last Wednesday, August 12. If you recognize him call police.

A judge will not grant another extension, and says barriers at Laniakea Beach must be removed by August 24. City and state officials are still working on an alternative to ease traffic on the North Shore.

Keep out of the water in Kaneohe Bay. A massive sewage spill from the Ahuimanu Wastewater Pump Station went into the bay after a force main was accidentally activated. Warning signs are posted.
